Yurrita Anchovies

Conservas Yurrita was founded in 1867 and is a family-owned business in Mutriku, Spanish Basque.

Mutriku is a town with a long tradition of canning and after 5 generations and a history of nearly 150 years, Yurrita is the oldest canning company in the Basque Country.

These Anchovies from the Cantabrian Sea are purchased directly from the fishing boats, ensuring the finest and optimum sized Anchovies. They are then salted and cured for at least 20 months and all prepared by hand, ensuring the right saltiness and providing fine boned Anchovy fillets.

These Anchovies are a fantastic addition to enliven a pasta sauce or as part of a salade niçoise. They also pair perfectly with pizza or as a topping to a divine slice of buttered sourdough.
